I saw it thru my daddie's eyes. The camera lens flashed pictures, which then appeared in a picture album, tho I did in fact experience it , by being there. What do I recall? What did I sense? What recollections do I have back in my farthest memories. The smell of my mother and father, the feel of their skin and clothing, the taste of breast milk and baby food, hearing the noises of an apartment compound, sleeping and napping in a drawer. No, I only heard the stories. I saw the pictures growing up but I never even experienced it as a college student. During my college days, the money from my savings account was available, but no one was able to go with me. I was not brave enough to go by myself. As a young bride, we went to Carmel instead. As a mother, the money was stretched to feed, clothe , and house us. As a homeowner of an older home, there were always things to fix, remodel, or buy. When we moved there was tuition to pay to further our education and always the living expenses. Now, I'm a grandmother of two granddaughters. When will I go to the land of my birth, Hawaii? My sister, brother-in-law, neice and nephew have experienced Hawaii now. When will I? When will I see it thru the eye of my digital camera, capturing the taste, smell, and feel of Hawaii. When will I get to go? So far I've only experienced it thru others' eyes.

Have uncle rick send you and Dad.
:P
Mickey, I loved your pictures. I never knew how cute you were. Love the hair kind of looks like mine if it was red.
BJ, Uncle Rick better be sending me to Hawaii before he sends your Mom and Dad, not that I am ever selfish or anything. Must admit your suggestion really made me laugh can't wait to tell him.
Hey get in line! I am sure it is written somewhere the daughter gets to go before the sister-in-law. So, I will pack my bags and await my plane ticket. I am sure it will arrive anyday now. Waiting....waiting.....waiting.....still waiting... hurry up Dad,I'm not getting any younger here.....
Hey, this is a great idea. I'm so glad I'm a part of this family too by my sister Mickey. Its nice to read how everyone is doing. Our summer has been the busiest I think I have ever had in my life. Starting in April Dave had surgery on his heart which so far went well. Sasha had 2 weddings and 1 reception plus we have also a granddaughter on the way "Piper Shea" which means gracious gift of
God. We are very excited. Also we got to go to Maui. And this fall our oldest son will be coming home after 8 long years. So this has been the most eventful year I think I have ever experienced in my life. And Dave and I are still smiling and laughing some happy tears thru it all. And were still sane (I think??) lol lol. God is Good all the time.:)Chrisy
Hay guys if any one should be sent to Hawaii I think it should be me only trouble is that if Rick sends me to Hawaii he will only buy a one way ticket and leave me there.
But I still think that it would be a good idea for Rick to send the whole brood there. Kath
AMEN and AMEN to Rick sending us all to Hawaii
